Joseph A. Fried is not your typical lawyer. Here are some things that set him apart:

Results : A long national track record of getting justice for clients.  He has won many multi-million dollar results, but he still remembers that cases are often about much more than money.

Resources :  While our office remains small by design, we have the financial and technological resources to take on even the largest of opponents and the largest of cases.  When necessary, we have spent hundreds of thousands and even well over a million dollars pursuing a single case.  We leverage our relationships with others and in house cutting edge technology.

Personal Attention : Joe takes only a small number of cases at a time so he can concentrate his efforts and resources much more effectively than lawyers with many cases. Each case gets Joe's personal attention and an individualized case plan no cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all lawyering.  Joe spends time with his clients, getting to know their unique needs and concerns even the ones that are often unspoken.  Joe's years of experience dealing with seriously injured people and his active listening skills and intuition help him to deeply understand his clients and to present their needs and concerns so that they can be addressed.  Many of his clients report that they have never felt fully heard until Joe has worked with them.

Experience : Since 1994, Joe has fought for justice and won on behalf of people and families in personal injury and wrongful death cases. He has succeeded against individual and corporate wrongdoers, insurance companies, and even governments.  These cases have involved people who were burned, paralyzed (e.g., paraplegics, quadriplegics, mobility disabled), brain injured, blinded, or otherwise seriously hurt or killed (wrongful death) as a result of the carelessness, negligence and recklessness of others.

Master Strategist and Presenter :  Joe is a known for thinking outside the box when it comes to case strategy, development and presentation.  Joe's work in this regard is sought after by other attorneys all over the country.  He is on the faculty of the prestigious Gerry Spence Trial Lawyer's College In Dubois, Wyoming through which he continues to help develop and teach innovative and cutting edge case development and trial presentation techniques.  Joe is also an active student of human psychology, especially experiential methodologies like psychodrama as well as learning and processing modalities like neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and various persuasion and learning theories.  He has a wonderful ability to connect with jurors, other decision makers, and even people on the other side of his cases and to present the human side of a case in a way that people will listen really listen - regardless of their political or other ideology

Technical Knowledge : Knowing the law is not enough.  Few lawyers have the depth of knowledge that Joe has in the fields of physics, engineering, forensics, dynamics, biomechanics, human factors and accident reconstruction.  Joe brings this knowledge to the table in investigating cases, examining opposing expert witnesses and in devising innovative visual aids for trial. This background, especially when combined with Joe's deep understanding of people, has proven invaluable in handling cases involving car, bus and truck accidents, defective & dangerous products (product liability), unsafe roadway conditions (like water runoff into roads causing hydroplaning and contractors who use improper work zone safety practices in roadway construction sites), unsafe properties (premises liability), design defects, and other cases that have technical components of proof.

Strong Academics and Diverse Background: Joe served as a police officer in metro Atlanta for 6 years while attending undergraduate school.  He graduated with the highest possible honors from Oglethorpe University (B.A., summa cum laude, 1990).  Joe attended The University of Georgia School of Law where his academic performance earned him a position as Articles Editor of the Georgia Law Review and cum laude graduation honors.  While still in law school, Joe was appointed as a municipal court judge for a small city in metropolitan Atlanta.  Following graduation, Joe spent a year as an attorney law clerk to Judge B. Avant Edenfield, who was Chief U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Georgia.   In 1994, Joe was appointed as a part-time Magistrate Judge in Fulton County, Georgia.  He was one of the youngest judges to ever be appointed to such a position at the time and he continues to hold that position today. Joe has been in private practice since 1994.

Law as a Calling:  Joe loves what he does and this love is apparent in the passionate way he goes about preparing and presenting cases.

Amazing Staff and Teamwork:  Joe believes that the best way to handle a legal case is by assembling the best possible team to work the case and support that team with the best possible support staff.  Unlike many other lawyers, Joe never forgets that the client should be an integral part of the team.  They deserve to know what is going on and to participate in strategic decision making for the case.  The team also includes other client family members as appropriate, attorneys (both inside and outside the firm as necessary), many of the finest expert witnesses in the country, and a support staff that is second to none.  This team approach is key.

Joseph A. Fried's passion for his clients and the innovative strategies he employs in preparing and presenting his cases have led to compelling results.  He has been recognized by his peers as a Georgia Rising Star and then a Georgia Superlawyer and his work has been featured in both the local and national press like Atlanta Magazine, Jezebel Magazine, T he Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Detroit News, and hundreds of local and national television broadcasts.   As further recognition of his accomplishments, Joe is sought after speaker for educational seminars for lawyers and judges and has made hundreds of educational presentations.
